Inherited or acquired challenges, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia or Learning Disabilities (LD), predispose individuals to disproportionately high levels of cognitive challenge and distress when facing standardized exams (e.g., SAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT), classroom tests or assignment deadlines relative to their peers. Appropriate testing accommodations provide students the opportunity to perform at a level that is consistent with their true potential. In my practice, I administer standard neuropsychological assessment measures to explore the necessity of accommodations and how these may be implemented. In addition, I offer cognitive and behavioral therapies that may improve learning rate, enhance focus and decrease the time required to complete assignments.
